I Won My Life

Life is not always easy. Everyone knows that.

Sometimes we spend a long time living according to what others expect from us, only to ask ourselves later whether we are truly living our own life. We may have work, relationships, and a certain sense of security, yet still feel that we have gradually drifted away from ourselves.

I carried both joyful and difficult experiences from childhood and adolescence. I went through complicated relationships, business failures, and periods when I did not know which direction to take.

Finding My Own Direction

Perhaps you know the moment when you no longer want to continue as before, but you still do not know what should come next. You are not sure what you truly want or what is right for you.

One afternoon in 2011, I realized that perhaps I did not need to search somewhere far away for my path. That something already existed within me — something I could not yet name, but to which I needed to begin listening more carefully.

At that moment, I still did not know exactly what it meant. I began, however, to pay closer attention to what naturally drew me, what brought me peace and joy, and what made me feel that I was truly myself.

Gradual Changes

Some changes were fundamental. I overcame alcohol addiction and ended a marriage that could no longer continue in a healthy way.

Other changes were less visible. I learned to take responsibility for my own decisions, to correct my mistakes, and to distinguish more clearly between relationships and situations that supported me and those in which I was gradually losing myself.

It was not a straight path, and it is still not complete. Some things have worked out; in others, I am still learning. I do not believe that a person becomes someone new through a single decision. Rather, we gradually find our way back to ourselves.

Art and Creativity as a Way of Life

Art became an important source of support for me.

Photography and creativity help me come alive, perceive the world more attentively, and discover things I had previously overlooked. Through images, I learned to find joy, peace, depth, beauty, and meaning even in seemingly ordinary moments.

I also began to understand more clearly the difference between what supports and develops me and what does not serve me or takes me further away from myself.

The Courage to Keep Going

Many of my photographs were created because I chose to continue even when I felt uncertain or afraid. They grew out of a desire to explore, to leave what was familiar, and to move beyond the limits I had placed on myself.

The moments I captured were not simply waiting for me in the comfort of everyday life. Reaching them often required a decision to keep going, to enter the unknown, and to remain open to what might appear.

Some of these moments could not be planned or repeated. I feel grateful that life allowed me to experience them. Yet they became visible to me because I was willing to face my fear, remain present, and look more carefully.

Photography became a record of these encounters, but also of the inner journey that made them possible. Each image carries not only what stood before the camera, but also the courage, uncertainty, discovery, and personal change that led me there.

Achievements That Gave Me Confidence

Gradually, my photographs began to receive recognition, including internationally.

They may not be the Oscars of photography, but I am sincerely happy about them. I do not see these achievements as proof that I have reached a final destination or found the answers to life. Rather, they confirm that it makes sense to continue in the direction I have chosen.

Creating My Own Life

I am becoming more conscious in creating a life in which freedom, dignity, respect, creativity, and inner peace all have their place.

This is what winning my life means to me.

Not defeating others. Not becoming a hero. But gradually becoming more fully myself and living in harmony with what I consider important.

My photographs grow out of this journey. In them, I seek peace, grace, and visual poetry.

I hope they will not remain merely images on a wall, but will become a natural and supportive part of the life of the person who chooses them. I hope they will open a space within that person for their own thoughts, memories, feelings, and courage.

I hope they will bring peace, harmony, and kindness into their life — not only complementing it, but also strengthening it from within.

Everyone may discover something different in them. Perhaps even something they have carried within themselves for a long time, but have not had enough time or silence in everyday life to truly listen to.
